“A Singer’s Story” by Josephine Daskam Bacon is the next time Franké’s work appeared in The American Girl. It was published in the May 1921 issue. The format here looks like the format for “The Flesh-Pots of Egypt.”
As with previous issues of The American Girl, the scan could be cleaner. It appears these issues were converted from microfilm back to a full-sized PDF. Without that, this artwork might not have been preserved at all.
There are two illustrations. The first is a sketch that embellishes the first letter of the first paragraph. Here it is in context.

Here’s the same image, cleaned up a bit.

The other image is an illustration proper.

The next story in The American Girl illustrated by Franké is “The Camp at Gravel Point.”
